You change jobs, cities, the people around you, and you walk into the same scene again. The same role lands on you. The same sentence tightens your throat. You understood the mechanism long ago, and it still comes back. Karmic astrology starts from that question: what in your sky keeps replaying until you get through it?
What does “karma” mean in a natal chart?
The word comes from the philosophies of India. It names a chain of causes and effects, and its first root is thought, even before action. Christophe Guillaume, whose school is AstroLuma’s reference, goes further: astrology is karmic by nature, and a natal chart gives a kind of inventory of what you bring with you when you arrive.
You don’t need to believe in reincarnation to use it. Here karma is a language for reading what repeats and what asks to move. No one will tell you who you were in another life, and nothing in your chart is a sentence.
Why you keep landing in the same place: the South Node
The lunar nodes are two calculated points, opposite each other, where the Moon’s orbit crosses the Sun’s path. The South Node describes what you know how to do without having learned it: a talent, a way of being that has always gotten you out of trouble.
It’s where you go back to on tired days, and it’s comfortable. The trap is excess: keep repeating what works and you end up shut inside it. That’s when the South Node becomes the scene that replays.
Where it’s pushing: the North Node
Across from it, the North Node shows the direction: what draws you and never comes on its own, what takes effort every time. The humanistic school puts it simply: nothing guarantees you’ll fully live it out, and it still gives you a heading. The work is to use what the South gave you to reach for what’s new in the North. To read your own axis in detail, open the lunar nodes and your life purpose.
What you missed, and what you see in others: Chiron
Chiron shows where something was lacking, often early on. It shows up in one of two ways: a lack that deepens, or an excess that compensates. And it has a turn, which is what makes it interesting: what you missed becomes what you spot instantly in others, and the wound ends up giving you knowledge. Many people who support others have a strong Chiron. You’ll find the detail in Chiron, the wound and its healing.
What you won’t give up: the Black Moon
The Black Moon, also called Lilith, is a geometric point: the farthest point of the Moon’s orbit. It marks what refuses in you, what isn’t up for negotiation, and the fear that goes with it. Christophe Guillaume links it to Jung’s shadow, the part of ourselves we’d rather not look at.
It’s often thought of as dark. Read well, it’s the place that belongs to you most, where no compromise holds. It asks to be acknowledged, and then it becomes a strength.

When the three answer each other: the incarnation triangle
These points don’t live separately. The humanistic school reads the Sun, the Black Moon and the North Node together: the incarnation triangle. Each speaks of both an inborn base and a goal. The Sun is the starting drive, your individuality. The Black Moon shows what won’t yield, and the North Node gives the direction. Together they tell the passage from seed to tree.
Sometimes all three meet: same sign, same house, an aspect linking them. The thread is then very clear. Sometimes they don’t touch, and that’s information too: three separate projects, each at its own pace.
Living your karma in the present
The temptation is to turn the chart into an excuse: “it’s my karma, there’s nothing I can do.” The passion-astrologue.com school says the opposite. Karma is lived in the present, with what your chart puts within reach. Waiting for a “good” transit or dreading another lets the only real thing slip by: today.
Everyone goes about it differently. A chart heavy in fixed signs finds it hard to let go of what it has built. Mutable signs can turn on a dime. Cardinal signs start things easily, at the risk of overdoing it out of passion. Either way it takes time, and that’s normal.

In short
Karmic astrology reads what replays in your chart, and the direction it pushes toward. The South Node shows the familiar ground you fall back on, the North Node the heading. Chiron tells what was missing and the knowledge born from it; the Black Moon, what you won’t give up. Read together, these points draw a thread that shows you where your energy is worth spending.
